This is a new, unused Opinel No. 9 carbon steel knife that has been disassembled, lightly sharpened with a whetstone, and then thoroughly black rust treated all the way to the base.

There are some unevennesses in the dyeing near the center of the blade, but this does not affect its use or durability. This will become less noticeable with use, but we are classifying it as a B-grade item. The price has been slightly reduced accordingly.

Please compare with previous listings for a comparison with regular items.

Unlike treatments done without disassembly, this process thoroughly applies the treatment to the base, which is the most prone to rust.

The black rust treatment prevents red rust, and the processing also makes blade opening and closing smoother.
