We have created a wideband antenna with more features than GAWANT. It is designed exclusively for the IC-705 and fits perfectly as shown in the photos. The new model also supports 50MHz.

GAWANT's supported frequency range is 14-28MHz, right? For BCL, I think it's meaningless if you can't hear around 4-6MHz or 8-13MHz.
GAWANT is 14-28MHz, GAWANT7 is 7-14MHz, each costing 7000 yen. This one is a better deal. Moreover, this one covers a wider frequency range and can also be used for overseas shortwave reception.

This uses the largest 2.5m telescopic rod (2.2 times longer than GAWANT, improving reception performance). It has a different circuit from GAWANT, with an added general coil switching circuit and band switching via a switch to broaden the tuning range.
The Lo band tunes around 3.71-14.2MHz.
The Hi band tunes around 13.2-54MHz.
(If you want to tune around 60MHz, please shorten the antenna to about 2m.) Be careful of tipping as the center of gravity is high when the antenna is fully extended.

*New Feature: Third Band
The M band, between Lo and Hi, tunes to the wide FM band (receive only). It tunes around 76-108MHz.

Do not expect strong transmission performance. Please limit the maximum transmission output to 5W. The VSWR was 1:1.5 at 7MHz as an example, so please use this as a reference. (VSWR varies depending on conditions and is not guaranteed.) It is convenient for receiving across a wide band with a single antenna.

This is a handmade product. It is not perfect, so please purchase only if you enjoy it as a base for experiments or modifications, and understand it is sold as-is (No Claim, No Return).

Please Note: While it should be fine for receive-only, please manage your expectations. Depending on the environment, the SWR may not be low, or even if the SWR is acceptable, communication with a shortened antenna may be difficult. We offer no guarantees for transmission. There have been cases where connecting counterpoise wires of 2.5m and 8m (requires adjustment) improved the SWR.
