Description
You will receive the exact item pictured. -- Vintage Thos. Walpole Eagle Head Brass Letter Opener Desk Accessory -- This vintage letter opener features a meticulously detailed eagle head handle with layered, textured feathers that transition into a polished, curved brass blade. The eagle is depicted in profile with a sharp beak and defined eye, adding a regal and patriotic aesthetic to this functional desk accessory. The blade is engraved with the signature Thos. Walpole, likely referencing the prominent 18th-century British politician and banker Thomas Walpole, or styled as a commemorative piece for the famous Walpole family of letter-writers. Measuring approximately nine inches in length, the piece displays a natural aged patina and slight surface oxidation, characteristic of mid-century brass collectibles.
