Tokai Stratocaster, Made in 1985, Japan Vintage, Tokai

This is a Stratocaster model from Tokai's Limited Edition series, manufactured in 1985 (model numbers TST-50 or TST-60).

Tokai's 7-digit serial numbers from the late 70s to mid-80s Japanese-made instruments indicate the last digit of the year in the first digit.
A 7-digit number starting with 5 = Made in 1985.

The Tokai logo is the so-called script logo, with LIMITED EDITION written below it.
This design is characteristic of the series that was available in the mid-1980s (around 1984-1986), alongside the Goldstar Sound series of old replicas.

The Limited Edition was a line sold for specific shops, for export, or with slightly different specifications (colors or parts) from the regular line.

It features the traditional Fender headstock shape, known as the small head.
*After 1985, export models had their headstock shape changed (commonly called the hook head) due to Fender's complaints, but this shape remained on domestic models and some exports.

Neck: It is likely a one-piece maple neck, as a walnut skunk stripe is visible on the back, rather than a separate maple piece.

Body: Classic specifications with a black finish, a white 3-ply pickguard, and 3 single-coil pickups.

Tokai in the mid-1980s was known for its exceptionally high quality worldwide.
Japan Vintage: At that time, Tokai Gakki was considered for Fender's Japanese production (Fender Japan) manufacturing (though Fujigen became the main manufacturer), and received very high praise for its woodworking technology and accuracy.

Playability: The wood is well-dried and precisely processed, and many instruments are still in active use today.
String height at the 12th fret is approximately 2.25mm on the 1st string and 2.5mm on the 6th string.

Basic sound output was fine.
(Some crackling due to age is present.)
