Description
Set of carved faux ivory bone salt & pepper shakers with mirrored dragon & cloud motifs. Hand-written paper labels on the bottom of one likely indicate they were purchased in Korea in Dec ‘52. Size: Approximately 1” in Diameter and 2” Tall Identify: If you look closely, the shakers have characteristic pitting, which I believe indicate they are bone, not ivory or resin. Note: Both have a number of hairline age cracks, most notably on the screw-on lids. The lids still screw on tightly. Online examples have the same hairline lid cracks (See last photo). These shakers were on display at The Dragon Dreams Museum in Chattanooga, TN. The museum closed permanently in 2016; I purchased the contents in 2024.
