Vintage Japanese Sometsuke Blue White Ceramic Cylinder Vase Hand Painted Bamboo

Deep cobalt blue bamboo rises across the white ceramic surface of this vintage Japanese cylinder vase, creating a graceful composition rooted in traditional sometsuke decoration. Hand-painted leaves and segmented bamboo stalks wrap around the form, with subtle variations in the brushwork adding individual character to the design. Sometsuke refers to Japanese blue-and-white ceramics decorated with cobalt pigment beneath a clear glaze, a tradition with centuries of history. Bamboo also holds a prominent place in Japanese decorative arts, where its distinctive form has appeared across ceramics, painting and other artistic mediums. The straight cylindrical silhouette gives this mid-century vase a strong presence while keeping the painted bamboo at the center of its design. It is pre-owned and may show light wear consistent with age; please review photographs for condition and details. Discovered By Treasures Of Bako – Have We Got A Gem For You?! 💎
