Fujitsu ScanSnap ix1500

Until last year, I was a university student. A scanner was an essential tool for students' studies.
It was common practice to digitize lecture notes, test questions, and reference materials for studying into PDFs.

The item I am listing today was incredibly helpful for this PDF conversion.

The features I found beneficial were: almost no paper jams, accurate OCR, fast startup, compact size, and connectivity via both wired and wireless connections.

It could also scan both sides quickly, allowing me to easily digitize thick documents myself that I previously had to send to a service for cutting and scanning!

With frequent software updates, I felt it was a top-notch machine that rarely caused any problems.

I have also used scanners that photograph books from above without cutting the pages. However, I found that page distortion couldn't be completely corrected, and manually turning pages was tedious. Therefore, I believe the ScanSnap allows for easier and more reliable scanning.

Now, regarding the drawbacks of the ScanSnap, while it worked smoothly on my Windows machine, I sometimes found the software compatibility and performance to be less than ideal when using it on a MacBook Pro (M1pro) with Parallels Desktop 11 (though this might be due to my usage).

Also, it was more stable when connected via a wired connection. In my personal opinion, the stability of wireless connection seemed to depend on the router and environmental factors.

I purchased this item new on Amazon on September 25, 2019, and used it myself for about 3 years during my student days for my studies.

The item is in working condition, but there are minor scratches due to home storage by an amateur. Please download the latest drivers and software from Canon's official website. (CD-ROMs are not included.)
