This is an entry-level machine for serious coffee roasting. Since this unit does not have its own heat source, you will need a commercial gas stove (household gas stoves are not suitable due to weight) to preheat the roasting drum separately.
Additionally, you will need to purchase a separate exhaust duct from a home center or similar store (this is not necessary if you purchase the Kaldi Chaff Collector & Cooler listed below at the same time).
It comes with a CENTER306 data logger, allowing for temperature and time management of the roasting drum when connected to a computer (you will need to download the dedicated free software Artisan from the internet). This expands the enjoyment of recreating your favorite roasts.
Purchased new on Amazon in April 2023, used approximately 80 times in total from February 2024 to September 2025. The inside of the drum shows considerable signs of use due to high-temperature operation, but it has been used with care and maintained. The exterior is relatively clean with no major scratches or stains. Operation has been checked and it functions without issue.
I am selling it because I can no longer use it at my new residence. Recommended for those who hesitate to purchase a high-priced new item and are willing to buy a used product. During coffee roasting, it is necessary to manage the emission of smoke and chaff (the burnt outer skin generated during roasting). Purchasing the Kaldi Exclusive Chaff Collector & Cooler which is also being listed separately will significantly improve issues with smoke and chaff. Cooling the beans after roasting also becomes easier.
Most commercially available coffee beans have been roasted for a considerable period, and their flavor is not very pronounced. Freshly roasted coffee you roast yourself is astonishingly different in both taste and aroma, on another level entirely. The aroma, in particular, is exceptional. Please do try it and enjoy.
