Roseville Carnelian I Drip Glaze Vase 11" Blue Green Handled Art Pottery Rv Mark
Roseville
Roseville Pottery Carnelian I Two-Handled Vase, c. 1923–1926 A large and beautifully glazed example of Roseville’s Carnelian line. Soft matte tblue ground with a heavy darker blue glaze breaking over the flared rim and running down the neck in thick, well-defined drips — this piece has unusually good glaze movement, with the drips falling in long fingers rather than the short, timid runs you often see. The color is hard to describe it is such an extraordinary shade of blue . Classic Carnelian form: bulbous body on a stepped pedestal foot, tall trumpet neck, and applied openwork scroll handles rising from shoulder to neck. Marks: Blue “Rv” ink stamp on the underside — the mark Roseville used during this period, before the raised “Roseville U.S.A.” marks of the later 1930s. Unglazed tan foot ring, as originally made. Measurements: Height: 11” Width (handle to handle): 7” Opening diameter: 5.75” Condition: Excellent. No cracks, no chips, no repairs, no restoration. Light surface wear specifically on the body of the case consistent with a century of age. Please review all photographs, which form part of the condition description. Shipping: Packed double-boxed with rigid foam and shipped with tracking and insurance. I ship pottery every week and take it seriously
