Hook the leader onto the U-shaped tip and lift the hook remover to slide it towards the fish's mouth. This will remove the hook from the fish without touching it.

This is very useful for handling venomous fish or when catching large quantities of horse mackerel and mackerel.
It is surprisingly lightweight.
As you'll notice when you hold it, the grip is cut in a way that prevents slipping, making it harder to drop.
It has a hook on the back, so you can attach a safety rope for boat fishing to prevent it from falling, or attach a float so it won't sink if dropped into the water.
