Description

You might have seen these quite often in old Japanese homes.
This is a small Hakone Yosegi-zaiku (marquetry) box.
As I've gotten older, I've come to realize anew the beauty of Japan in things I used to see without much thought.

However, because I love wood, my collection of small boxes has grown... and I'm running out of space.
I'm listing this item in hopes that someone who appreciates it will find it.

Photos 1-4 show the box with the top lid slid open.
The handle hardware is a bit loose, but as you can see in photo 7, this is how it's made, so it can't be helped.
I believe it will be fine as long as it doesn't break.

It has been stored for many years, so there is some age-related deterioration.
Please review the photos and consider your purchase.
