Antique pre 1920s family owned handmade round red & blue braided rag rug - 29"

This rag rug is extremely brilliant in color for being over 100 years old. It was made by my Grandmother or one of her sisters in the 20s or slightly before.  The colors are blues and reds with wool and cotton. The fabric is braided to make flat ropes then sewn to lay flat in a spiral.   My grandparents did not come from any sort of money, so repurposing (mom guesses) an old blanket or 2 to make this rug was an ideal way to reinvent material.  My Great grandparents had many rag rugs. This one had been rolled up & stored in a cabinet & was forgotten from what we guess. Mom doesnt ever remember this in their house....it was there but hidden!  Its clean, fresh and has been stored with care. The seams are strong and it's had a good life but deserves to be appreciated   Diameter is a wee bit over 29   Smoke and pet free environment  Clean & stored with care
