Egetsu Daruma Kokeshi Doll - Matsushima, One of Japan's Three Most Scenic Spots - Famous Local Craft from Miyagi Prefecture

This is the Kogetsu Daruma Kokeshi, a specialty craft from Matsushima, Miyagi Prefecture.
It is a representative craft of Matsushima.

I purchased this during a family trip and have kept it carefully displayed in my home showcase.

As shown in the second and third photos, there are areas where the white paint on the eyes, applied at the time of purchase from the workshop, has lifted and is peeling. Therefore, I have rated it as with scratches and dirt. If this does not bother you, I would appreciate your consideration.

This is a wooden doll approximately 9cm tall.
The back is inscribed with Zuigan-ji.
As the name Daruma Kokeshi suggests, it is a hybrid of Daruma and Kokeshi, with a two-head-to-body ratio and a movable neck. The eyes are large and glaring in three colors: white, black, and red.
It is a very powerful and captivatingly cute kokeshi with a strong gaze.
