This is the BUCK #112 Ranger Sport. This is a professional model featuring powdered S30V steel.
The standard 112 Ranger has a brass body and 420HC steel, but the Pro Series features an aluminum body with Micarta handles and powdered S30V steel.
Since 2000, BUCK has primarily focused on low-cost, high-quality products. However, the Pro Series is produced in a separate division as semi-custom items.
The blade sharpening is standard factory specification, meaning it has an edge angle. However, the out-of-the-box sharpness can be subtle (common overseas, but perhaps not to Japanese standards).
I have hand-sharpened the edge using natural whetstones from the USA and fine ceramics to refine the cutting edge. This is entirely hand-sharpened; no grinders or other machinery were used.
As a bonus, I've included an aftermarket nylon sheath.
