COFFEEJACK V2 Espresso Maker with Options - Early Bird Sale - Manual Espresso Machine
Introducing the new manual espresso maker from COFFEEJACK, featuring a planetary gear drive (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DayI_tYq4aY).
While V1 felt like a concept that didn't quite land, V2, after about a week of use, gives a strong impression of being well-executed.
I originally purchased this as one of several options because my beloved Picopresso, which I use for extended business trips and portable outdoor use, seemed to be nearing the end of its life. I prioritized compactness and durability.
- This listing includes the following set, including optional purchases:
(Images 3 onwards show my own unit in use)
① Main Unit: Unopened (standard pressure gauge)
② Dosing Ring: Genuine product
Purchased because it might be a special shape that also functions as a stand adapter.
Easy to use for tamp-through and can be stored at the bottom of the basket.
③ Stainless Steel Insulated Cup: Aftermarket
175ml capacity. Attaches without issue.
- Approximate Dimensions
Unit only: 1350g, H13 x W10 x D9cm (as shown in image 5)
With cup: 1400g, H26 x W17 x D9cm (as shown in image 6)
- User Experience
Compared to other portable machines I've used (mostly borrowed or previously owned, so relying on memory):
・Leverpresso, FlairGo: Indoor/Outdoor use / Lever type
The early Lp had issues with resin part durability, and I don't like the operating flow or stability of the Go, so V2 feels superior.
Also, lever types require a flat surface for extraction, which can be a drawback depending on the outdoor setting.
・ARAM: Indoor/Outdoor use / Crank type
This is the closest type among them.
The size is almost the same, but V2 feels about 1.2-1.5 times heavier.
Preheating is easier with V2 (V2: 1 cycle / ARAM: 2+ cycles).
In terms of price, V2 is better when considering the pressure gauge.
V2 is easier to crank, but the water pouring method is slightly different, so the operating feel might be a matter of preference.
・Picopresso: Technically Indoor/Outdoor use / Pump type
The size with the pressure gauge is almost the same, but V2 feels nearly twice as heavy.
For portability and lightness with just the main unit, Picopresso is overwhelmingly superior, and I would choose it for purely portable use.
Even with the pressure gauge, Picopresso has a price advantage, but since it's mostly resin, V2, which is mainly metal, seems more durable.
Due to it being a pump type, V2 is superior in terms of operation.
