Siam Sterling Silver Niello Bracelet

A link bracelet composed of curved rectangular sterling silver panels featuring black niello enamel depicting traditional Thai dancing figures. Each articulated panel is connected by jump rings and secured with a box clasp. Time period 1930-1940.  During the Art Deco period in the 1930s, jewelry featuring traditional Thai motifs became immensely popular in Western markets following the export of handcrafted silver from Siam. Craftsmen utilized the ancient niello technique, inlaying a dark sulfur-based alloy into etched sterling silver to create striking high-contrast mythological figures. These souvenir pieces were frequently brought back by international travelers and are heavily collected today for their distinct ethnic artistry and historical charm.
