Addendum:
My grandparents enjoyed collecting antiques. These items were kept in their boxes on shelves year-round, and as the children grew, there were few opportunities to display or use them. They were carefully wrapped in oil blotting paper within their boxes and thus rarely exposed to the outside air, which seems to have kept them in good condition.
