Vintage Pierre Balmain Paris sport coat in 100% silk, model Marseille. Black and cream herringbone shot through with pale pink, blue and gold flecks that only show up close. Two-button single breasted, notch lapel, flap pockets, three-button cuffs, fully lined, center back vent.  Silk suiting is rare and the hand on this is remarkable — light, dry, with a subtle slub texture you don’t get from wool.  Size 42R, equivalent to a men’s Large. Fits a man roughly 5’8” to 6’0”.  Chest (pit to pit): 22” Shoulder to shoulder: 19” Sleeve (shoulder seam to cuff): 24” Length (collar seam to hem, back): 30”  Condition: very good vintage. Mild pilling on the silk surface, consistent with age and shown in photos. No holes, no stains, lining intact, all buttons present.
