Description
This is a very adorable doll with characteristic white skin.
What is Gosho Doll?
They came to be called Gosho Dolls because they were used during the Edo period as return gifts from the Imperial Court and court nobles in Kyoto to feudal lords and others.
There are also dolls called Mitate, which are inspired by Noh plays and other performances, and the characters are sometimes subtly indicated by the props they hold.
Gosho Dolls have the meaning of warding off evil for children and as amulets wishing for their healthy growth. They are also cherished as symbols of happiness, peace, and prosperity due to their cheerful expressions.
This is a very auspicious design, with one doll holding a Daruma, a symbol of good luck, and the other holding a dove in its hand.
It has been displayed on a shelf in my parents' home for a long time, and it is in beautiful condition with no dirt or cracks.
Please understand that this is a set of two.
