This is a kimono in a subdued purple with a Moon Rabbit pattern.
I believe this is a rare design Ichimatsu Doll.
What is an Ichimatsu Doll? In Edo, when people said Doll, they were referring to the Ichimatsu Doll, a plaything and toy for young girls.
Originally, they were popular as dress-up dolls, but now they are treasured as display dolls and are traditional crafts representing Japan's traditional festival dolls and celebratory dolls.
They are often purchased as decorative accessories for Hina Dolls or given as gifts for a child's first festival celebration.
They are also famous as Welcoming Dolls. Hina Dolls are often gifted by the wife's family, and the Ichimatsu Doll is used to welcome them. It is a beautiful Japanese tradition where the husband's family purchases the Ichimatsu Doll.
