# Doll's Tail

From the Pulled from the Drawer series.

This is a nagajuban (under-kimono) that was worn by a doll from the Taisho period. The fabric is exquisite, and antique lovers will be drawn to touch and feel it.

It is lined (awase-jikomi) with a dyed shibori pattern on the outer fabric, featuring a subtle woven pattern. The lining is a soft, well-worn cotton, with white silk adorning the hem.
It has wide sleeves, characteristic of doll clothing, with the underarms left unsewn.
The sleeve fabric features a hanazume (flower-filled) design, densely packed with motifs like chrysanthemums and plum blossoms. Small plum and chrysanthemum flowers appear when light hits them, making it charming. This fabric may have been dyed specifically for dolls. It is pure silk, with a patterned rinzu weave.

The lining of the sleeves is a luxurious, finely ribbed, patterned silk. The practice of incorporating luxury in hidden areas reflects the aesthetic sensibilities of the Meiji and early Taisho eras.

There are some faint red color transfers on the lining, small holes and color variations on the sleeve linings, and minor damage to the body of the garment.

Whether these are noticeable depends on the individual, so please check the photos.
