Baby Big Eyes by Ideal Doll, toy company during the 1950’s the P- mold baby

-     Ideal Baby Big Eyes doll (also frequently referred to by collectors as the Ideal P-Mold Baby), manufactured by the Ideal Toy Company in the 1950s -    The P Series Designation: The letters stamped on vintage Ideal dolls refer to the factory material mold designations used during production. The P-5 and P-6 molds were specifically used for their mid-century, soft vinyl baby doll lines that combined a vinyl head and limbs with a soft, cuddly cloth-stuffed body. -      Baby Big Eyes: Because her body is cloth-stuffed rather than hollow rubber or hard plastic, she was marketed as a soft cuddly play doll.  Approximately 22.5” length  Not the original  clothes - as is  good used condition has potential  -    She is recognized by her remarkably large blue sleep eyes and a distinct open-pout mouth expression. -    The Eyes: This particular line is famous for its distinctly large, expressive blue sleep eyes  that close when laid down paired with full, dark eyelashes. -     Body Style: It features a soft, heavy-grade oilcloth fabric torso with vinyl limbs, a common mid-century doll manufacturing technique used by Ideal to create cuddly, dolls and toys.
