WOODEN Madame Alexander WENDYKIN Dorothy 8” Doll in Blue-White Blue Dres

VERY RARE WOODEN Dorothy And Toto WENDYKIN Madame Alexander, 8 Doll, Toto in Basket, Box, Wrist Tag, Paperwork was produced in 2004. Original box is the sturdy, thick box from the Classic Collection. It is in very MINT condition overall with clear label. The stringing on Alice's joints is nice and tight. Jointed at neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, thighs, knees, all are fully functional. Shoulders and thighs move in and out as well as up and down. Wig is mohair, face is hand painted with stationary eyes. This doll is like new in every regard and has never been displayed. Garments, undergarments, trims, as well as shoes and shoe soles are exemplary. It would be difficult to distinguish this set from a brand new one, it is in such lovely condition. Toto appears to be a synthetic plush with fibers sticking straight out in a mohair appearance. He has embroidered facial features and round bead eyes. He cannot be determined if jointed without opening. These hand crafted Woodkin dolls have a unique appeal, inimitable in any other medium. The natural wood and intricate piecing of the joints, as well as the hand painted facial features, are truly amazing! It seems that any Madame Alexander doll collection is truly enhanced by the inclusion of a Woodkin doll. Once you hold one, it is hard to resist ownership! Dorothy is accompanied by her beloved Toto. Last picture is a stock photo to show what she looks like out of the box. Mine has never been out of the box.
