Edo Crepe Ear Covering with Flower Ornament - Head Dress for Ichimatsu Doll (Size 12, 42cm) - Hat

This is a mimikakushi (half bonnet) tailored for Ichimatsu dolls.
Inspired by the mimikakushi hairstyle popular during the Taisho period, it is crafted into a gentle shape that frames the face. It is designed to fit a size 12 (42cm) Ichimatsu doll.

Materials
The outer fabric is a rare Edo chirimen (crepe silk) that has been part of our collection for many years. To complement the pale and delicate dyeing of Edo chirimen, hand embroidery has been applied using four strands of silk thread (Photo 15).
The edges of the outer fabric and the lining are made of a dark navy thin chirimen from the Meiji to Taisho periods (Photos 6, 8). It has a supple texture similar to Edo chirimen and sharply enhances the colors of the outer fabric.

Design and Craftsmanship
Two delicate lace flowers and a hanging vine are placed slightly above the ear-covering position, and a round bead made from the same ribbon is attached at the fastening point to create overall harmony. Light purple beads, close in color to the ribbon, are attached to both ends.

Specifications
Tying ribbon: A grayish-purple ribbon is used (Photo 6), and the ends are hemmed to prevent fraying.
This ribbon has a moderate thickness, so tying it at the side of the chin creates a stylish and slightly luxurious atmosphere.
Texture: A thin layer of cotton is included inside to maintain its soft shape. It has a fluffy and gentle feel.
Model: It has been tried on both modern and traditional-looking dolls, and we believe it suits both. Please note that the model, a size 12 (42cm) Ichimatsu doll, is not included in this listing.
