■Thomson! This brand was sold in the mid-1970s by NIKKO TSUSHIN Co., Ltd., a major mail-order company that dominated the market, and was based in Edogawa Ward, Tokyo. Although they have since moved to an even better location, it's a surprisingly rare gem as it was only available through mail order, with no storefront sales! Thomson guitars were OEM produced by various instrument workshops, including Kiso Suzuki Violin Co., Ltd., and this particular instrument is certified as being made by the prominent Kiso Suzuki Violin! At the time, the specifications were incredible for the price, making this an exquisite piece! Produced nearly half a century ago, it's a rare and historic masterpiece with a limited production run, truly an exceptional instrument! Original price ¥23,500 (equivalent to over ¥70,000 in today's currency).

■Exterior: The top has a few minor linear pressure marks visible under direct light. There is also a faint, sand-grain sized ding on one spot, but it's not noticeable at all! The sides and back are otherwise free of significant scratches and are in excellent condition. The top features a beautiful, tightly-grained quarter-sawn Sitka spruce that has aged to a lovely amber hue. The sides and back are made of a rare Leo wood, known for its striking flame pattern. The back is particularly striking with its 3-piece construction incorporating White Sycamore, giving it a modern feel even today! While it has been thoroughly polished, please be aware that there are some minor hairline scratches due to age, though they are barely noticeable. There is a slight swelling below the bridge, but it is within acceptable limits and does not pose a problem.

■Fingerboard: The rosewood grain is very beautiful and shows little sign of use. The large, square pearl-like position markers add a significant presence.

■Frets: Polished and free of rust or tarnish. Approximately 80% or more remaining.

■Neck: Straight.

■Truss Rod: Functions correctly.

■Saddle Height: 2.9 mm (at the center of the saddle).

■Tuners: Equipped with original back-cover type tuners, polished to a shine. New mounting screws have been installed.

■Strings: Fitted with new Martin Bronze Light Gauge strings (reissue M140).

■Interior: Dust has been removed with compressed air, and there are no unpleasant odors.
