These firewood logs were made by processing Japanese cork oak (Onisen) trees, felled for environmental maintenance, using chainsaws and axes.

Japanese cork oak (Onisen) is one of the whitest woods in the world. Compared to Nukan sen, Onisen is less suitable for processing, being heavy and hard, and is often used as sinker wood. It has a higher specific gravity than coniferous trees, and while its flame intensity during combustion is moderate, its burning time is very long. A smoky cheese-like aroma drifts from the freshly split cross-section of the logs.

A 30 cm long, 5 cm thick, 1.5 kg Japanese cork oak log burned for about 40 minutes.

We offer logs in sizes ranging from approximately 20 to 40 cm in length, making them easy to use in wood-burning stoves.
The images are for reference. We will deliver logs as close as possible to the ones shown in the images.

As these were processed by an amateur, the size, length, and thickness will vary.

The Japanese cork oak logs were dried for at least two years in a well-ventilated greenhouse to remove moisture.

We will ship 20 kg of dried Japanese cork oak logs, packed in recycled cardboard boxes.

Please note that the total weight, including the cardboard box, will be 20 kg.
