I have been practicing the tea ceremony for over 10 years.
During a large tea gathering, the fibers from the kaishi I kept in my kimono stained my kimono.
(Kaishi that became damp from sweat would crumble...)
(Fibers also got on my precious kobukusa...)

Also, I inhaled the floating fibers when taking out the kaishi from my kimono, which made me cough.

The moment I placed a watery sweet on the kaishi,
the moisture seeped through to the other side...
The kaishi became unusable in an instant.

From these frustrations, I researched kaishi from all over Japan,
and finally discovered this paper,
succeeding in creating our own kaishi!!
