This is an Ancient Nara Sensu fan from Ikeda Gankodo, a long-established fan shop in Nara.
It was part of my grandmother's collection and is brand new and unused.

[What is Nara Sensu?]
Nara-e is a style of painting created based on the illustrations found in the E-inga-kyo (Past, Present, and Future) from the Nara period. The E-inga-kyo is a picture scroll that explains Shakyamuni's past lives (previous existence) and his life story (present existence). This Nara-e style is painted on the front of the fan, while auspicious motifs such as pine, bamboo, plum blossoms, cranes, and turtles are depicted on the back.
