Chasen (Tea Whisk) - Tea Ceremony Utensils - Nagatani Ryukido - Antique Tea Ceremony Utensils
Chasen (Bamboo Whisk) made by Ryokido Nagata, a tea ceremony utensil shop founded in the Kasei era (1789).
Ryokido is a long-established brand that still has a shop in Kyoto today.
This item was found in my parents' warehouse and is about 50-60 years old.
There are no noticeable scratches or stains, but it is a used item.
Due to long-term storage, there may be unseen breaks or dirt on the tips of the bristles.
Height: Approximately 11.3 cm
The box shows some age-related deterioration and is a bit worn, but has an antique charm.
Number of bristles: Around 80. The handle is thin, making it recommended for both usucha (thin tea) and koicha (thick tea).
