mid-20th century Taylor, Smith & Taylor Azura pattern creamer and sugar bowl set

The Taylor, Smith & Taylor Company operated a prominent pottery works in East Liverpool, Ohio, producing affordable and stylish dinnerware for American households throughout the mid-20th century. During the post-World War II era, the company introduced various lines like 'Ever Yours' that catered to the growing market for casual, colorful kitchenware and tabletop accessories. These sets frequently incorporated cheerful floral decals over pastel glazes, reflecting contemporary interior design trends of the 1950s. The 'Azura' pattern became especially popular for its soothing robin egg blue glaze paired with contrasting brown trim and wooden accents on hollowware pieces. Such pieces were mass-produced using semi-vitreous china and designed to brighten everyday family dining tables across suburban America. Today, surviving sets from this era offer a nostalgic glimpse into mid-century American domestic life and kitchen aesthetics.
