This is a single-person, square-shaped brazier-like furnace, handmade by pouring refractory cement (Asahi Caster 13S) into a custom mold.
We named it Iori-ro (庵炉), inspired by the image of a furnace for enjoying charcoal grilling alone in a quiet hermitage (iori).

The Iori-ro - Black is colored with black pigment for cement. It has been used for charcoal grilling without any cracks.

◾️Background of Creation◾️
While enjoying charcoal grilling in my garden, I wanted to create a personal hearth. I initially tried making the inner furnace with perlite mortar, which led to the creation of this product.

The perlite mortar furnace cracked due to heat, so I switched to refractory cement. This proved to be durable and reusable without cracking.
Even with added color, it has been used without any issues.

The Iori-ro can be used as a charcoal grill as is, but we believe it also offers the enjoyment of DIY projects, such as creating a box brazier or a sunken hearth by processing wood.
We hope you will enjoy it as an item for solitary drinking.

◾️Precautions◾️
The bottom of the main unit gets very hot. To ensure safety, please do not place it directly on tables or other surfaces. It is recommended to elevate it by about 15cm. I personally use it placed on top of blocks.

This size is intended for solo charcoal grilling and may not provide sufficient heat for large group BBQs.
Do not fill the furnace with a large mound of charcoal, as this may cause it to crack. Avoid using it with high heat.

The weight is approximately 7kg, so please be careful as dropping it may cause it to break.

The sides of the unit will also become hot over time during charcoal grilling, so please be mindful of burns.

We have renewed the mold since the previous production batch. Due to rising raw material costs and to maintain a price that allows us to continue production, we kindly ask that you refrain from price negotiations.
