Diatomaceous Earth Showa Retro Shichirin 16cm Kinka Tabletop Use Bottom 10 Engraved Handle Fire Pan Included

This is a very compact, mini-sized shichirin (charcoal grill) that has been stored at my family home since the Showa era.

Unlike gas stoves, the far-infrared rays from charcoal heat food thoroughly to its core, resulting in surprisingly delicious grilled dishes. It's perfect for those who want to enjoy authentic flavors at home, such as grilled saury or yakitori.

[Material] Made of traditional, sturdy domestic diatomaceous earth, with 10 stamped on the bottom.

With a diameter of approximately 16cm, it's small enough to not take up much space on the table, making it the perfect size for solo yakiniku or for toasting dried fish during an adult's evening drink.

[Condition]
Although unused, due to long-term storage, there are some areas of peeling and chipping on the diatomaceous earth (please see the brown area at the top in the photos).

Ideally, I would repair it myself before listing, but I currently don't have the time. Therefore, I am offering it at a lower price in its current condition.

If it doesn't sell for a while, I may consider withdrawing the listing, carefully repairing it myself, and then relisting it at a higher price.

[For your reference: Simple repair method]
If the peeling or chipping of the diatomaceous earth is a concern, it can be maintained using the following method.

Materials: You can fill the gaps with repair putty sold at home improvement stores for a few hundred yen, or repair clay (fire-resistant) from a 100-yen shop.

Steps: Lightly brush off any dust from the chipped areas, dampen them slightly, then apply the putty and let it dry. This will make the appearance neat.

If you prefer, you can smooth the surface with sandpaper to further enhance the Showa retro texture.
