Description
We are offering 100% Miyazaki Prefecture Hyuga Binchotan charcoal, considered the finest among Japan's three major Binchotan types, at an unbeatable price!

Why not enjoy a slightly luxurious meal with Hyuga Binchotan, also favored in high-end Japanese restaurants?

This Hyuga Binchotan 4kg+ set is the perfect size for barbecues and other gatherings with many people.

We directly source Hyuga Binchotan charcoal made solely from Miyazaki Prefecture's Japanese evergreen oak (arakashi) from the Hyuga region's Binchotan white charcoal kilns, and deliver it with utmost care to prevent moisture.

The specifications are for broken and round pieces of Hyuga Binchotan charcoal, including smaller offcuts. While their appearance may vary, the quality is guaranteed. (The image shows a 500g sample.)

~Features of Binchotan Charcoal~

It burns longer than regular charcoal or briquettes, maintaining a consistent temperature for extended periods even with a small amount, reducing the need for frequent additions.

Its hard texture provides uniform and stable heat output.

Furthermore, Hyuga Binchotan charcoal does not emit a distinctive odor.
It is highly valued in high-end restaurants and establishments specializing in grilled dishes as the ultimate fuel to enhance the natural flavors of ingredients. Binchotan charcoal is indispensable for authentic grilled eel (unagi no kabayaki) prepared by steaming and then grilling.

~How to Use Binchotan Charcoal at Home~

・Adding it to your bathtub warms your body with far-infrared rays, making it less likely to cool down.
・Cooking rice in a rice cooker with Binchotan charcoal raises the pH to around 8-9, resulting in fluffy, delicious rice.
・It absorbs room odors. Place it in shoe cabinets or refrigerators to utilize its alkaline properties for effective deodorization.

For uses other than fuel, cleaning and boiling are required. Wash off surface dirt with running water, then boil in hot water for 10 minutes for sterilization.
Then, air dry in a well-ventilated area for one day before use.
For deodorizing purposes, re-activate it by boiling and sun-drying about once a month!
If the deodorizing effect diminishes, switch to dehumidifying use and dry it in the sun for continuous use.

Precautions when handling Binchotan charcoal:
・Binchotan charcoal may cause popping or sparking during combustion.
・Start ignition with low heat and ensure it is completely extinguished after use.
・When adding more charcoal, it is effective to add well-heated charcoal.
・Always ensure adequate ventilation when in use.
・When storing, avoid proximity to fire and take measures to prevent moisture, such as placing it in a bag.
