Description
This is a beautiful Nagoya obi by Living National Treasure Taira Hirao Kitagawa.
According to the Japanese color dictionary, the base color is close to apricot (anzu-iro), but due to the colored threads of the Karaori weave, it appears honey-colored. The first and eighth images are close in color.

I used it once for a kimono class lesson and once for the completion ceremony. I had intended to use it for the certification exam, but I couldn't bring myself to use it for practice because it was too precious, so it is in beautiful condition. While many old Karaori Nagoya obi are made with an open hem, this one is tailored as a Nagoya obi, making it easy to tie even for beginners.

This obi is very versatile and can be easily paired with various kimonos, from formal wear like Irotomesode and Houmongi to casual everyday wear like Tsukesage, Iromuji, and Komon. Karaori Nagoya obi, due to their versatility, were featured in Beautiful Kimono 2025 Winter.

9-sun Nagoya obi, pure silk, Nagoya tailoring

No noticeable flaws are found, but please excuse slight signs of wear from being tied.
