Vintage Zuni Randolph Margie Ghahate Cardinal Inlay Sterling Silver Belt Buckle

Beautiful vintage Zuni sterling silver pictorial inlay belt buckle attributed to Randolph & Margie Ghahate, featuring a vivid red cardinal surrounded by flowers, leaves, berries, and a geometric inlay border.  The workmanship is exceptionally detailed. The cardinal is rendered in red and dark inlay, while the floral composition incorporates turquoise-colored stone, mother-of-pearl/white shell, iridescent abalone-type shell, red coral-colored material, and dark shell or jet-type accents. The alternating triangular border gives the buckle a particularly striking finished appearance.  The reverse bears the distinctive Ghahate script maker’s hallmark.  This is a smaller, highly wearable buckle with substantial silver weight and an unusually elaborate amount of hand-cut pictorial inlay.
