Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2017 Runway Look 18 Embroidered Leather Corset Obi Belt | Dust Bag  Purchased by me from the Alexander McQueen boutique in Paris in 2017, this extraordinary embroidered leather corset belt is from Sarah Burton's Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2017 Collection, Look 18. It remains one of my favorite McQueen pieces, but unfortunately no longer fits me.  Under Sarah Burton, McQueen collections celebrated British history, craftsmanship and extraordinary handwork. The Pre-Fall 2017 collection drew inspiration from Cornwall's landscape and Celtic heritage, and this piece captures that romantic, intricately worked McQueen aesthetic beautifully.  Cut in structured black leather, the belt has a dramatic corset/obi silhouette designed to cinch the waist, with elaborate embroidery and embellishment across the front. It was shown as part of Look 18, making it a documented runway accessory (see photo!)
