Description
Rare transitional era Replogle World Nation Series 12-inch globe. This was manufactured in the narrow window between October 1990 and December 1991, capturing the world in a state of rapid geopolitical flux. It features a unique snapshot: Germany is shown as a single unified country, yet the Soviet Union (U.S.S.R.) is still intact. The globe features a detailed raised relief (textured) surface showcasing mountain ranges and topographical changes. It was designed by Chief Cartographer LeRoy M. Tolman and made in the USA. Mounted on a brass-finish metal meridian and a sturdy weighted base. Aesthetic: Academic, Cold War History, Transitional Decor, Library Chic. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The cartography remains crisp and the raised relief texture is well-preserved. Minor age-appropriate patina on the metal base. Dimensions: 12 Diameter; Approx 19 Total Height.
