Vintage 1940s Gruen Veri-Thin 17 Jewel Swiss Mechanical Watch Parts Repair

Vintage Gruen Veri-Thin mechanical wristwatch, believed to date to approximately the 1940s. Beautiful Art Deco-era rectangular design with black dial, gold-tone Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, and gold-tone case. Inside is a Swiss-made Gruen 17-jewel hand-wound mechanical movement. Interior case markings identify the watch as Gruen and indicate a base-metal case. CONDITION: Sold AS-IS for repair, restoration, parts, or collection. Watch is incomplete and currently non-functioning. The crystal/glass is missing, as is the winding crown/stem. Movement, dial, case, case back, and metal band are included as photographed. Significant age-related wear, scratches, finish loss, discoloration/patina, and some oxidation are present. I have not attempted to clean, polish, repair, or service the movement. The original black dial has wonderful vintage character and remains quite striking despite its age.
