Vintage Windsor Genève Swiss Manual-Wind Watch – Serviced – Circa 1940s/1950s

There is something special about wearing a watch that was already keeping time more than 70 years ago.  This Windsor Genève Swiss manual-wind wristwatch is a wonderful example of the classic watches produced during the post-war era of Swiss watchmaking. Dating approximately to the late 1940s to early 1950s, it comes from a period when a dependable mechanical watch was an everyday necessity—not an electronic accessory.  The beautifully detailed dial features a combination of applied Arabic numerals and triangular hour markers, gold-tone hands, a traditional small-seconds register at 6 o’clock, and the period-correct “Antimagnetic” designation. The textured dial and Windsor crown emblem give the watch considerably more character than many simple dress watches of the period.  Inside is a Swiss manual-wind mechanical movement marked Manor Watch Corp. – One Jewel – Unadjusted, along with Swiss patent markings. The movement has been serviced, cleaned and lubricated and is running beautifully. Wind it by hand and enjoy the same mechanical experience its original owner would have enjoyed generations ago.  The watch measures approximately 34mm across the case, excluding the crown, with a 43mm lug-to-lug measurement. Those dimensions were typical for a gentleman's watch of the era and today give it a wonderfully traditional vintage presence on the wrist.
