Thank you for viewing. #PeaLABO_AllListings
We are listing precious tea ceremony utensils collected by my grandmother, who practiced the tea ceremony.
This is an unused stored item. There is discoloration on the bamboo, which has turned black with age.
We hope you will use it for your practice or lessons.
Artist Name:
Product Name: Hishaku (ladle)
Kiln/Pottery Name: Bamboo
Size: Furo (brazier) type, mouth diameter approx. 5cm; Ro (hearth) type, mouth diameter approx. 6cm; Total length approx. 39cm
This is a bamboo tea ceremony utensil used to scoop hot water.
They are divided into the tsukigata (moon-shaped) used for regular tea ceremonies, and the sashitōshi (insertable) used for arrangements like daisu (shelf) and nagaita (long board). The sashitōshi is sometimes also called kazaribishaku (decorative ladle).
Furthermore, there are two types of tsukigata: furo-yo (for braziers) and ro-yo (for hearths).
The furo-yo type has a smaller bowl and the end of the handle is cut diagonally towards the body.
The ro-yo type has a larger bowl and the end of the handle is cut diagonally towards the bark.
The sashitōshi type has an end that is cut straight, and the handle is inserted all the way into the bowl.
We also have other tea ceremony utensils listed.
We offer discounts for combined purchases, so please contact us if you are interested.
