Castle Craneycrow, by George Barr McCutcheon, Hardcover Book, 1902
No Brand
Typical of McCutcheon’s work, Castle Craneycrow is not a “serious” literary novel in the sense of high modernism or deep philosophical exploration, but a work meant to entertain: with suspense, romance, exotic or aristocratic settings, and some intrigue. The story involves a competition for love: two men vie for the hand of a woman named Dorothy. There is abduction and imprisonment, including a young American woman being held in an old castle. Condition: The book is vintage and has typical vintage wear. Some stains on pages. All the pages are still binded together. Though there is some wear to the bind visible in photos. This is not a mint condition book but still has many more people to tell its story to. Be sure to zoom in on the photos because my opinion of a minor wear may not be the same as yours, although I do mention anything that visibly stands out or causes an item not to function properly.
