Vintage Victorian Cast Brass Wall Hanging w/ Porcelain Cameo Of Courting Couple

This is a rare and beautiful wall hanging plaque that is made of cast brass, featuring a porcelain cameo insert. This piece would look fabulous on a gallery wall or by itself on a narrow wall. This is a heavy piece as it is cast brass. It has a hole to easily hang it from a screw.  At the very top there is a circular finial with vertical lines tapering downwards. There is a metal ribbon bow at the top and bottom of the oval frame. The primary oval bezel is surrounded by textured tassels from the ribbon. In the middle of the frame sits the porcelain cameo insert. It depicts a colorful printed pastoral courtyard or romantic scene with two figures in traditional dress. Mirroring the top, there is a second open work ribbon bow- mirroring the above bow in smaller proportion. The design concludes with a cast brass draped fabric finish. The backside has numbers 274 on the back. Measures slightly over 15.5” in length and at the middle longest width at 3.75”. The cast brass is about 1/2” thick and the cameo comes out about a 1/2” further. This is an exquisite piece of cast brass art. Thanks for checking out my listing!!
