A Rinzai Zen monk. Born in Gifu. Surname: Goto. Room name: Inryoken. Served as the head abbot of both Myoshin-ji Temple and Daitoku-ji Temple. He was the teacher who ordained Hōunsai of Urasenke. He succeeded Shakku Katsuji and together they proselytized in America.
