This early Scrabble set dates to approximately the late 1950s, based on the board markings and U.S. Patent No. 2,752,158, which was issued in 1956. The board also carries the earlier 1948 Production and Marketing Company copyright. Set includes: * Original folding Scrabble game board * 100 wooden letter tiles, counted and complete * 4 wooden tile racks * Original burgundy textured game box * Original game instructions/rules The board includes the original printed letter distribution showing 98 lettered tiles plus 2 blanks for a total of 100 tiles. The box shows age-related wear, including edge and corner wear consistent with a game that is approximately 6570 years old. Please review photos carefully for cosmetic condition. Smoke-free home.
