Vintage Holgate Wooden Pounding Bench Toy with Mallet 6 Pegs Kane PA Mid Century

Holgate wooden pounding bench, made in Kane, Pennsylvania. Mid century. Solid wood bench with the original printed label on the end panel reading holgate over a scalloped red oval marked POUNDING BENCH. Complete with the original wooden mallet and all six colored dowel pegs in red, yellow, green, blue, purple and orange. Good honest wear throughout. The red label paint has worn down to bare wood in places, the mallet handle paint is worn through in patches, and the bench top shows staining and dents from use. That patina is original and part of the appeal. Sold as a collector and display piece. This is an older painted wooden toy and is not intended for use by children. Flaws: Paint chipping and wear consistent with age. Side legs are slightly loose. All six pegs have small cracks from use. #holgate #vintagetoys #woodentoy #midcentury #antiquetoys
