Antique, Fire Tongs, Tea Ceremony Utensils, Mitsukoshi Custom Order, Set of 3
While the use of hibachi (Japanese braziers) is quite limited today, they haven't completely disappeared. They might still be seen in settings like tea ceremonies, wouldn't you agree? Tweezers are an essential tool for hibachi. In the past, people would gather around the hibachi, chatting while using the tweezers to stir the ashes and pick up small pieces of charcoal to light their pipes or cigarettes. It's unclear when the tweezers being offered were made, but they are typical of the Showa period. This item is made of iron or brass and may have some rust. The handles are wooden, and the tips of the tweezers have notches to make it easier to hold charcoal. As this is an antique item, we ask for consideration from those who understand such items. We are not considering selling them separately, but a pair would cost 2500 yen.
