Ashtray, Ash Tray, Hippo, Paris, Vintage

Description
I'm not sure how long it's been around, but it's been in my house for a very long time.
No one in the household smokes, so I believe it was part of a collection. However, the glass is cloudy (perhaps it can be cleaned with something?), and there are a few small chipped areas. It could be used as an ashtray, or perhaps to hold accessories. It would also work as a paperweight.
It says Paris on it, but I suspect it might be American.
I would appreciate it if you understand vintage items.
I will ship using the most economical method (likely Click Post or Yu-Packet Post). Other shipping methods are available if you are willing to cover the difference in cost. Please inquire in advance.
