While these gloves are fire and heat resistant, they do not completely block heat transfer. Please be careful to avoid burns.

I can use them without worrying about burns from iron plates or grates.
Since they are made of cowhide, I feel they will develop a nice patina with prolonged use.
I recently tried making baked sweet potatoes by placing stones in a pot over a campfire, and these gloves were incredibly useful.
They are easy to put on and take off, and I found the heat and insulation resistance to be more than sufficient. The baked sweet potatoes were a great success!
