Uses high-quality ceramic magnets!
GOTOH Piskups Precision Bass Pickup
PB-Custom

This model is characterized by its easy-to-use moderate power and attack, and its wide-range sound.

Many people think of ceramic as a cheaper alternative to Alnico magnets because ceramic is less expensive to produce. However, ceramic magnets have many unique advantages, such as good sound clarity, excellent balance across frequency ranges, and a pleasant, slightly gritty texture when overdriven. They also offer stable performance without magnetic degradation over time. Of course, the lower price is also a significant advantage!

GOTOH PICKUPS was founded in 1966 and is a long-established pickup manufacturer that has been committed to purely Japanese production since the dawn of the guitar era.

With its high quality, low prices, and exceptionally high cost performance, it is arguably the world's leading manufacturer. It has long been popular overseas, yet mysteriously, it is not as well-known domestically.

One reason for this may be the perception that Gotoh Pickups lack distinctiveness. We've considered why such high-quality products might be perceived this way.

They have been used in the standard models of various companies such as TOKAI, FERNANDES, and Fender Japan for a long time, so their sound may be so familiar that it's taken for granted.

Perhaps because the overall balance is excellent and all frequency ranges resonate well, it's difficult to pinpoint the pickup's unique characteristics. (In reality, parts or wires that are said to have a distinctive sound in a particular frequency range often do so by sacrificing sound in other ranges.)

These pickups have sufficient power, a good overall output balance, and a lineup of distinct and easily understandable models! They are pickups of such quality that you can confidently choose them when you're unsure.

While many high-end overseas manufacturers now outsource production to Asian countries like China, South Korea, and Indonesia, Gotoh Pickups have consistently maintained their purely Japanese production! Highly recommended!
