Vermilion Glaze Black Raku Tea Bowl - Master Potter Masaaki Tagawa - Signed Tomobako (Certificate Box) - Wabi-Sabi - Out of Print - Holiday Sale!
This is a black Raku tea bowl, a posthumous work by the late Masatoshi Tagawa, a renowned ceramic artist from the San'in region.
A long time ago, I was able to obtain this Raku tea bowl, which was not for sale, after visiting his home several times and making a special request. This is a very precious black Raku tea bowl that has been exhibited in numerous art shows.
The glaze shows slight reddish-brown tones and fine crackling that have become more prominent with age. It closely resembles the aesthetic of Chojiro's Raku tea bowls, possessing a refined appearance and a strong presence.
The inscription on the accompanying wooden box is handwritten by the artist himself.
A bookmark is also included.
I was formerly part of a tea ceremony school associated with the ○ Senke tradition and am currently organizing and decluttering my collection of tea ceremony utensils and tools.
Each item holds deep memories for me, and it is with a heavy heart that I am listing this black Raku tea bowl. I would be grateful if someone could cherish and inherit it.
It will be shipped with careful and secure packaging.
